I'm trying to save a bit of money on my build. Can I just reuse the oil pan gasket and put some RTV on both sides of it?

Yes. Afterall..the upraised area on a new gasket isn't worth much. Barely seals if you are lucky. If I was using the craplastic gasket, I'd RTV the crap out of it.
Or get something like an engine sealant. That's what GM uses to seal their aluminum pans to the engine if they didn't put a rubber inlaid gasket in them.
Thats what I did. 12k miles or 1 yr and its still golden. My 06 mazda 3 i had didnt use a gasket it was just rtv.
