Pros: sweet wide belt and less belt slip. You also need another balancer and have an opportunity to get a overdrive balancer.

    Cons: its not cheap.

but until you have belt slip, its probably not worth the cost.

Isn't a belt slip less money than a 8 rib setup?

$150 from WBS for belt wrap, memeber here charges 170: http://www.grandprixforums.net/gen-v...able-7358.html

190 for the kit from ZZP for an 8 rib, balancer, and pulleys.

    All prices + shipping.

At what psi or pulley size does slip become a problem?

Well I was wondering as I'm getting everything to do it. Along with a new snout (to me) with mps. And two pullies, and the belt for fairly cheap.

Anyone know where I cam get an 8 rib for a 3.8? Zzp is a lot vauge

More power losses using an 8 ribber if you don't need it.

It's a fair amount of work to change the balancer, the bolt is extremely tight (200 to 300 foot pounds) and you have to keep motor from spinning while breaking loose the bolt. Most impacts won't break them loose. You will need a case learn when done and you also need a puller to remove balancer. Again that bolt is really tight!

Belt slip isn't a big problem on Bonnie's (smile).
As far as tough to change an HB, it's not hard at all. My impact rips the bolts off w/o a problem. I've only had one fight and it was on a stand for a cam swap.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

    Smoothflow Pulleys

    Good guy, good work.
Irridium spark plugs last 100k mi and work just as well as copper. Copper is a waste on N/A and only lasts 15k mi. Don't use Platinum.
Use 195* tstat unless you can thoroughly explain why not; 99.9% don't need a lower temp.

I actually purchased the smooth flow 8 rib kit......it was NOT an 8 rib kit. Not wide enough.

The owner nate is a nice guy though. Offered to machine me a set to my specifications.
