I'm sure this has been covered, but I am not really having much luck finding a thread.. I am thinking about sticking a set of headers on my 01 GTP.
I see in a few posts people mention headers on feebay for a couple hundred bucks, then I look at places like zzp and see sets for a whole lot more..
This is my first attempt at modding a fwd car, and I don't really know much about the brands of most of the headers I've seen.

My question, what are your reccomendations for a reasonably priced, set of headers that isn't gonna sound like a leaking mess of Sh!T?

One more thing to add, since mine is an 01.. I gather that a cat delete isn't a very good option, something about throwing codes? Iowa=no emissions test But if it's gonna cause all kinds of issues, I guess I will just stick with one.. Do I need to stick to roughly the same dimensions for a cat to avoid codes?

You just have to keep the rear 02 sensor and set the code to no report.

Awesome! I'm planning on dumping a butt load of $ in this thing in the next few weeks. Struts, brakes, atleast the inner and outer tie rods if not lower control arms and sway bar too. Plus a tranny flush, rad. flush fuel filter and an intake. I still need to get it up in the air before I start ordering parts to see exactly what it needs. It's got around 125k on it right now and I'm getting an annoying bind/pop sound when I turn on uneven ground or into a parking lot with a little bit of a curb. Don't really notice it at all if I hit a bump straight on, or going over rail road tracks..

That's sorta what I had in mind after skimming through the posts here. On that cat delete, is it going to murder the mpg?

Nope, because your just telling to not set it off and it should run the same.

If you have nick tune it for you I'm sure he can some stuff for you just to get you by.

Also I'd advise you to not flush the transmission, just pan drop and filter change with new fluid.

Thanks death punch. I guess I should of said change the tranny fluid, I have heard a lot of a lot of bad things that happen after actually flushing it. It's been about 25k miles since the last time I did it. Figured its probably about due again.
