So im driving down the freeway, 70-75mph, all of a sudden i see smoke (due to rear gasket having a crack), engine light turns on and pull off, sure enough oil all over the motor, see the dipstick out(as if it was pushed out).

leaking a bit of oil, tow it home, start it up to get it up the garage and the car is vibrating hard enough to shake the steering wheel(when in Drive, even worse)

So take off the rear gasket notice it was damaged replaced it, drained the oil and notice glitter shavings, figure it might be Pushrod? or anything internal.
Replaced oil and filter, turn it on and still same thing( now i definitely know its internal.)

and it tossed out a Misfire Code...

any idea what goes bad first in this scenario?

car is a 2002 GP with 160k miles on it, knew something was bound to go sooner or later... specially the way i drove that thing.

    Thanks guys for looking.

Pull the plugs. If any are damaged you've found the cylinder that let go. I told you a long time ago you needed to ditch that PCM and get more flow mods for that pulley size...but nooooooooooooo.

Depending on the misfire code ie: P0301, 0302 etc, that will tell you which cylinder went.

Beings that you've had the rear head off, the front is where the problem is. Probably #3 or #5 most likely. Shavings in the oil spell doom no matter what's happened though. I'd even bet by taking the front exhaust mani off it'll tell you which piston lost a skirt.

^3.4 with just a can tune and a u bend delete can accomplish that easily.

After buying another car and motorcycle... its time to either resurrect her from the dead or sell...?

What should i consider before doing either or...

Goods; Car has been paid off, drove it for 100k miles, still in good condition exterior and interior.

Bads; replace the engine, after 165k miles trans will be going soon too, cannot find a 3800 with semi low miles i can swap the motor in....

any tips or advice on "what would you do"

car right now is prob worth no more then 1500 if i try and sell...

    Thanks guys!
