I just swapped in an L26 with L32 heads and GenIII blower. The motor only has 25K on it. The motor runs fine except that it doesn't cool down. It has no problem warming up, it just doesn't even slightly cool down. The coolant is full, new 180* thermo, no leaks, 25K on the WP. I've bled the system so there shouldn't be any bubbles. Does anyone have any ideas? I'd appreciate some quick answers since I need my car back on the road.

How hot does it get? How long did you let it run? Most likely still needs bled. Open the bleeder on water neck.

I thought the same thing at first SSEI, but he said he already got the air out.

temp sensor is new as well, I broke the old one swapping the motor lol.

The temperature doesn't spike or anything, it raises slowly like it should while the motor is warming up. I cut the car off at 210-215 since I dont need to go into the red on such a new motor.

Try another thermostat or take that one out and test it in a pan of water on the stove.

It sounds like something may be blocked somewhere, or maybe the L26 bottom end is just telling you it's mad that you put such a small supercharger on it. lol

I'm leaning towards something clogged as well, I just put in a new thermostat tonight and got the same results.

That would mean there is still air in the system. My first thought was that it was not bled all the way.

So is the air out or not?

As far as filling it up and it not going down anymore it is filled, but from my understanding of vapor lock the coolant isn't flowing because of an air bubble so it would give the illusion of being full...

Best way to know if you are overheating from lack of coolant is to pull the tstat and look in the lim. If it's not right up to the t stat..then you need to fill via the t stat hole. Put it back in and try that out.

I had an air bubble that even driving 30 miles wouldn't clear. Had to pull the stat.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

did you fill the LIM with coolant before you put the thermostat back in?

I did not fill up the LIM, after thinking about it that makes sense. I've never had to fill up a completely empty motor

It's not always that way. I did the rear cover on my car last week and it sucked in nearly 3 gallons of coolant. Which told me life was going to be good. If a motor only takes about a gallon, maybe a touch more..then you are air bound. Like I said..I've had a couple..they wouldn't bleed no matter what I did, except to pull the t stat and fill at the lim.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

She's cooling off now, vapor locked was the culprit. Thanks guys.
