I have a 04 grand prix gtp and want to start modding the exhaust soon. I'm still new with exhaust, what is catback exhaust and downpipes, and u-bend deletes? And how much would all this run me approximately? Or maybe theres a different forum on this someone can suggest?

you dont need a catback exhaust. Its basically a new exhaust system from the catalytic converter, all the way back. U-bend is an extremly restrcitive part of the exhaust where the downstream O2 sensor is. Your best bet is to buy a set of headers (200 bucks on ebay). that will get rid of the u-bend (hence the u bend delete). Anything after the cat. is a waste of money.

Thanks alot, so the u-bend is after the headers and before the catalytic converter and replacing the headers will get rid of the u-bend? And i've read alot of discussions on about how the 3" downpipe is a good mod.. whats a downpipe and any insight on it? Thanks again

well, like i said, headers are gonna be the best bang for the buck. It has its own downpipe, so you dont need to buy one. the u bend is after the catalytic converter.

But yes, headers that have a DP are your best bet, and all you really need unless trying to push 350hp, from what the big boys tell me.
