as far as what will be done to the motor to support the blower, that depends. my build list will look like this:

    - heavily ported heads (stock valves, 130# springs, stock rockers)
    - custom high lift, high overlap cam (think NIC, but bigger)
    - potentially headers, but i am unsure if i actually care to install another set when a downpipe is sooooo easy
    - no intercooler, not happening. i have a good thought that i will run 100% meth again though. im hoping rocket will help me out with that.
no machining to the block? I feel all the oiling issues need to be addressed, that's just me though.

    Oiling issues............ mmmmmmmmmm oiling issues.

You might be okay without dealing with them if you used an L26 front cover, polished the galleries and the oil filter adapter.

Also run an 04+ spring/valve, 0w20 oil, run a reasonable idle speed, also look into sinister drag designs oil pan gasket.

ya know, im just looking for insurance might as well right? definitely change out the oil feed line. that was my plans on the engine build. get rid of the 5/8 crimp tube with the 2 90* bends in it an go for a steel braided 3/4 line with an fittings

    best of luck there.

Finding a machine shop that rebuilt a 3800 successfully is difficult.

Ask them how many single digit turbo buicks they've built.

    You sir are awesome.

Should have waited for ZZP's new rods though.

You should have known they were making them.

First bit, serious. Second, not so serious.

    Regardless, H beam rods. Wonderful.

If only an internally balanced forged aluminum crank was available.

i'm thinking the tvs 19xx or w/e it is
as it's up there but still not ridiculous like the whipple install

or maybe go the way of the vinnie and do an mp112 but idk if there is a write up and exactly what the custom parts list entails

i'm working on finding most the **** for a complete 91c conversion
having extreme trouble on the powersteering cooler

but they would be hella dumb if you went w/ a fmhe unless you had them mounted above the fmhe and then ran a stupid high flow fan on high most the time to make everything happy

Seriously a crank that would accept rods anything LS based would be awesome considering there are a billion options.
2nd to do a SC setup that hasn't been done I'd be looking into a rotrex yes I know thats not engine mounted but mounts like a CSC
3rd. Why look at other cars that have OEM SC's and find something that would work?
Vortech makes screw type SC's now too but I have not idea what they are comparable to.

ROTREX C38-71 Supercharger Head Unit upgrade fits BMW, Ford Mustang, Honda S2000 on eBay!

^^ Rotrex plus AC delete looks like cake!

honestly i really hate the look of the snail style supercharger
if i had to go that route i'd go tvs 12xx and get a nice turbo

Because its not a roots blower.

But if we're limiting this thread to roots, goodbye twin screw.

i mainly meant anything that was going to bolt directly to the motor. i already know most CSC setups are built to run stupid boost.

the build i am going for will be low compression (stock until i blow up the block, of course) and high boost, because that's how i roll.

knowing that troy HAD an mp112 build (that is until logan stole his adapter plate......), it shouldnt be too hard to mock up. the blowers themselves are really close in the way they are sized and the mp112 can come with a varying length snout which would make mounting and all that jazz easier when all is said and done.

continuing on, knowing that a TVS blower is going to sound like a whisper in comparison to most blowers im basically going to skip it. others may be in this to make high power levels, i am not. this is a show and go setup, so i dont need to push 550+ whp like a whipple car would.

the hard part for me is going to be spec'ing a blower that will allow me to get higher boost levels out of it without running straight off the efficiency map. i can always run a bigger pulley on it to back it off and keep it running well.

as far as the motor issues with building the block: i dont care. if tons and tons of guys can push retarded power levels on the stock block (TUNE IN CHECK) then why cant i? i dont need to do any work to the bottom end until it presents itself as a problem. i planned on relocating the oil filter somewhere by the firewall and make it super easy to take on/off. the only thing i am unsure of at this point is a) headers or manifolds, and b) double roller or stock chain.

cobra is m112, no? because that won't work. the inlet is on the top of the blower and i would have to cut a hole in the hood to make it work.
