My winter project is going to consist of working on a couple sets of heads. One is gonna be for me, and one is gonna be for whoever if I do good on mine. I'm planning on porting them out myself, and putting bigger valves in it.

Question is....what's the story on these ZZP Valves now? I don't visit CGP, so I'm out of the loop over there, and don't really care to wait for the search to bring back what I want.

Their SI Valves are out of the question. They are junk, and I don't want anything to do with them. Anything that important that's modified, I can't believe they are still selling them after all the stuff that's happened.

What I'm looking for personally:
I will be sticking with the XP most likely, or something similar, mainly because it's a reliable power maker cam (imo) and it's not too hard on the valve train, which brings me to my other decision to keep it. I don't want to run the double roller....I really don't see any need for me to run a high lift and worry about valve train clearances and stretching the timing chain. Last, I will be running the Diamond 9.5 pistons, so I'm all about making it run as smooth as possible, and as efficient as possible. Probably on a 3.2 pulley at the smallest. The basic goal for me right now is to get 390+ crank HP with the methanol kit. (I'm sitting close to 360hp on a great day right now)

I do remember reading up on ZZP using LS1 style/5.3 valves and I think that Dave did confirm it to me at some point. If by doing this, then what kind of springs are required to keep things happy.

Keep in mind, I'm just trying to continue my understanding in the valve setup beyond stock, so I'm very open minded to what you guys have to say. I want to keep things level headed, and find out what YOU guys know, and maybe this may be a good informative thread later on down the road.

Mostly it's just curiosity to me at this point.

Bring it on....
