    should i do a 3" exhaust???

boost is at 6PSI at WOT
    has 260hp/255tq
    stage 1 intense blower cam
    headers
    FWI
    lites 104s
    180 Tstat
    3.4 pulley
    2 1/2 exhaust
    tuned for the 3.4

i dropped to a 3.2 and got 3* KR so i took it off
i plan on doing some valvetrain work and need exhaust work since with headers everything is hitting everywhere...
would i get any benefits from a 3" exhaust????

I think it might lower KR but also lower torque.

Probably won't do much, what headers you got? If you don't need a cat, then remove it, or get a hi-flow one. 6 PSI seems low though, isn't stock pulley at WOT like 7?

I just noticed this is a Lumina, is the exhaust the same dual and everything as the GP? If not, then I would go 3".

nah your stock catback flows fine till 350 hp

To me it sounds more a tune problem than anything. You need a good custom tune to gain everything out of the cam you have.

The lumina exhaust has like 5 90 degree tubing its never comparable with the gtp exhausy! i know tune is so so but i still need to.make a new exhaust. This is why im asking if it helps to have 3" exhaust

Stock size is 2.5 give or take and at the bends around 2, and with how much power you are putting down its not an issue at this point.

you''d just be spending on something you dont need to have.

Pics would probably help of your current exhaust setup. 3" probably isn't going to do anything to really help...

A cammed car on a wideband with headers should have no problem running lower than a 3.4"...sounds like a solid tuning issue like Cam said.

Forget about tuning it for a while, i need a new exhaust! Thats it! Mines crap! All bend up, welded everywhere and has areas where is hitting my car.

    Would i lose?
    Would i gain?

Or i should just redo the 2 1/2?

Im not trying to get rid of kr by doing the exhaust
I just need a new exhaust and since its the same price thats why i ask!

You will not lose anything since you have to replace it anyways. Probably gain some. Yay!

That doesn't look bad at all.

Thats a little worse, but granted you go mandrel its probably more than adequate.
