I called the mechanic who installed the maf on the 8th. It had a 6 month guarantee, that I was hoping would be honored. He refused to deal with it, because I wasn't the one who paid for the repair. I told him I didn't need him to do the labor, if he would tell me where he got it, I'd go exchange it and put it in myself. He told me to be reasonable, and he wouldn't even do that. SO.... I'm off to the boneyard after calling GM and finding out they want about $360 for a new one.
WHile I'm there, are there any bolt on upgrades I can take off of other cars? I'm primarily thinking sway bars, but I also am wondering what seats I could get. Mine are in pretty good shape, but I'd love to get some Bonneville SSEI seats. I like the side bolsters on those, but don't know if the power connections are the same, if they bolt in the same, or how I would control them. Barring those seats, what newer seats could I get? Mine look good, but the foam in them is kind of getting hard. I could get them refoamed, but if I can just get boneyard seats in good condition, that would probably be cheaper.
