Why not have it nitrated after having it machined?

Bill is in the process with my S1X install, i'll let you know how it goes. Basically 1.6roller rocker, intense or pushrods, lifters, 105#springs, retainers, locks and viton valve seals(.020) extra clearance. using rollermaster single chain and dampener.

S1X, TOG, Trannyman Gen3, 3.0/2.8, 42.5#, 105#, Thrasher, Borla PRO XS, Magnaflow Cat, 1.6 roller rocker

Sounds good. I couldn't trade my 1.9 rr for 1.6rr fast enough. So I used my stockers

    Curious,
Why didn't you do it / help / watch?

1.6 roller tip rockers will make about 25-30whp less than stock rockers, as well as float your valves much sooner.

105s float on s1x and XP cam cars passed 5800rpms or so.. its not the end of the world but you lose quite a bit of power.

I wouldnt trust an LS6 spring lift wise on a xp/s1x. Good chance you will be running into coil bind.

Kinda funny that consistency ruins performance in this specific application.

why would u shift that cam higher than say, 5900rpm? sounds like more trans abuse than gains from the dyno charts anyways

Just giving you my side of things...that's all man.
If you get your hands on a quality set of gears there's a Cloyes replacement chain that you can get for them that is pretty robust. I know a local guy running it in his turbo 3800 camaro. Don't quote me but I think it's the same chain you'd order for a Grand National. If anyone's interested PM me and I'll get the info on the chain from him.

I can't see how that's possible. Rollers are easier on the valves then stock rockers. The motor should rev easier with the rollers.

Where are you getting this info from? I've been told by many people that 105s are just fine. I was taken for a ride just the other day in a buddy's gtp that has an xp and 105s and it would not stop making power even at nearly 6500rpms

Stock rocker ratio changes at high lift.

With no proof other than heresay.

Plenty of people have ran 105's/LS6's without issues for years.

So would it be better to run stock rockers rather than rollers?

I dont know a single person that has never had issues related to too much lift and not enough clearance using these parts... Remember everyone breaking valvesprings not to long ago?

There is a thread on CGP right now where zoom and I put all the specifics out there. Its quite obvious stuff and it has not been a secret. Just because people like to do things wrong does not mean that I am automatically retarded for bring this up.

I do typically seem retarded trying to back the things I say up with factual measurements, real world experience, and common sense.

I was taken for a ride just the other day in a buddy's gtp that has an xp and 105s and it would not stop making power even at nearly 6500rpms
Floating valves on a M90 is not nearly as voilent as it is on a turbo setup, but it is happening.... As I said its a small issue and your average ricer is not going to notice 10-20whp missing.. Most everyone with this "setup" can prove valvefloat when their boost starts to spike up right around 5800 rpms. People without valve floating issues do not have that boost rise.

In a turbo car valve float does not raise boost, but it does decrease turbo speed and airflow (as the turbo is regulated by the pressure ratio of the motor).

iv'e done it once, the install with me and my brother, however it spun a main bearing 50 miles after the build. I just don't have the time or space to do it over again. and besides, Bill is a Professional

Here is the pic of the rockers i have. i believe they are the 3rd gen rockers to be exact. at stock ratio.

those are whats in my valvetrain as far as running the S1X on stock heads.

    Yeah, I do.

If you remember right as well those were COMP CAMS #105's...also it wasn't just the 3800 community...tons of others that used THAT specific batch were snapping springs. They were a bad batch from Mexico. I'm talking Crow 105's, which have had a awesome track record.
