I'm looking at a GTP owned by people who don't know anything about working on a car themselves. Consequently, they are afraid to let me pull the plugs. They have no problem letting me have a mechanic do it, but the tires plus near them wants $230, and that just doesn't fly. The owner has repeatedly said he has no problem at all letting me have a mechanic look it over. I don't believe it was ever modded. However, they have been running it on 87 octane. Not really car people, not the types to have modded it and demodded it before sale. He has a lot of receipts for recent repairs, none of which he did himself. They car seems to be in excellent shape. It just gets under my skin, not being able to check the plugs. So, would the engine run like garbage with one or more bad pistons, or is it possible that it would not be noticeable, even under full throttle?
