Just replace it with a glass pack, thats about the best you can do.

The search function has the answers you're looking for.

Glasspack in place of resonator and headers is the best option.

It doesn't matter, all glass packs are the same. The red ones are just Cherry Bomb brand.

I would search high and low for another stock resonator myself. Or...fix yours, it can be patched/welded on.

I left my resonator on, and SURE glad I did. From idle, to WOT it sounds good. Inside...at any throttle, no drone. I'm pleased to say I have no rasp.

    My set up:
    TOGs.
    3" DP
    Gutted stock CAT
    U-bend delete
    stock resonator
3" custom made "Y" pipe from there on back. (Upgraded from my old 2.5" set up)
    Flowmaster dual chamber mufflers
stainless tips, no internal baffling in them.

It does help that I have the Intense stage 3 heads and cam for the sound I have. But on a stock engine set up or any IMO...the key is not to touch the stock resonator if you can help it.

I'm just saying it's just some people don't like beer. It's an aquired taste...and 90% of the people with 3800's out there DON'T have a disirable exhaust note...and I think you can agree. I also have the factory resonator...which I'd never delete from any 3800...quieter the better

    Way to fail.

Because the resonator keeps these cars sounding decentER. Just wait till you toss different mufflers on there or you go catless.

    It's going to sound awful.

I have Sd headers and a 3" dynomax straight through right after the header right now nothing else. 0-3k its nice. 3500 it gets weird, 4k+ its really weird.

does ditching the cat even make a sound difference? I honestly didn't think it would do much if anything at all

    It makes it deeper, yes.

If you care I'm having the converter and u-bend cut out here soon before the meet on the silver one.

I'll take a video of a before and after...as of now the only thing done to the car is an intake and home-made HV3.

Minus the whole stock muffler aspect.

Because stock mufflers make the 3800 sound like a dying cat stuck on a cactus.
