I always wondered about this small issue but somehow never asked around. So here it goes : when I bought my custom CAI kit from ebay a long time ago, there was a small hole drilled in the metal pipe but never found the use for it. Do you have to connect it using thin silicone tubing to the vacuum distributor located on top of the engine which has 3 exits and spits air?

Stupid question I know, I bet its useless but I would really like to know the use of it, I'm curious. Here is a picture :

Not sure on 04's so hole in tube might be for IAT and the vacuum nipple on mine goes to the climate controls inside the car, i think.

Nope, no such nipple on my supercharger. There is a wire thats looks similar to the one on the second picture but it is conneccted to both ends....

It looks like you prolly have a universal CAI. So they left a port for the IAT, just keep it sealed and you'll be ight.

Yep, universal CAI...and I changed the vacuum distributor once since the previous one broke because the plastic cracked....I think there was only 2 exits...but the new one gm sold me has 3....go figure

You have a big nipple on the back of your supercharger behind the throttle body by the egr.
