yeah, that's right. it's supposed to look awkward. i would also recommend installing the rear header on the head while it's off, it'll make it a hell of a lot easier. same with the egr valve. that flex pipe looks like it bends... it doesn't.

Odd, I find it easier to put the header in then the motor and or head, then bolt up to the head, before the blower is on the car. I typically install a built motor with the valve covers and LIM on it. Then build the rest in the car.

putting the rear exhaust manifold on first would be easier but not a rear header.

So I'm going to need to get a scan gauge. I already picked up a hud gauge pod what do you guys think I should put in the other spot?

maybe it was just me then, but i had a hell of a time getting to the bolt under the egr passage. everything else was alright, just took a little wiggling and an extra set of hands. worst part of the whole build by far, but i guess that's probably a good thing.

You can just get rid of this bracket and either zip tie the map sensor in a spot accessible by the harness and a vac line.

If you want to keep the bracket, you can also flip the map sensor so that the plugin is facing up and easier to disconnect/remove.

I prefer it to be the way you have it. That way there's no ugly wires and vacuum lines sticking up.

I do cut the extra spot off it, since W bodies only use one map on your year.

So Wbody store is for the most part awesome I thought zzp had fast shipping... I ordered my junk yesterday and it was here this morning! and their shipping is free... so I just learned what most of you guys already know.

Anyway that being said I basically have all the stuff I need to get the heads done which is the only thing in my way from starting the swap. If I get the heads done by next friday I can order the rest of the gaskets and junk and then be good to go

So any tips for a first time head rebuild? also porting and light polish on these

My one tip. Be prepared for failure and don't get upset. Learn from it.

    That's what I did.
