I have read many times that the stock pulley usually makes around 7-8 psi. I stupidly hooked my boost gauge up in the wrong location, so I fixed it on my lunch hour. On my way up the on ramp on the way back to work, my gauge hit a max of 9-10 psi at WOT. Does this seem right? My mods are in my signature, with the exception of the 3.5 pulley which hasnt been installed yet.

3" ZZP downpipe, Magnaflow highflow cat, 3" piping back to y, then 2.5" from there through Borla mufflers. Intake mods are Wizaired CAI with K&N. Stock manifolds, TB...

Piping might be a tad large.

I will do headers down the road. My question is, how am I hitting 9-10 psi with stock pulley when everything I have read says 7-8 psi on stock pulley. Does this mean that I will be in the 12 psi range with my 3.5 pulley?

    fubar: where in PA?

Air density is what it comes down to.

If you are at 4,000 ft you are not going to see the same numbers as sea level. Sure it's possible to see 9-10psi on a stock pulley. It's not common this time of year, it's possible though.

Is it possible that your new gauge isn't super accurate, sure.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

do them now. i got mine for 198.xx shipped to my door with saturday delivery.

Bradford. I'm about 2hrs away from you. you don't happen to have a pulley puller do you? lol. i need to get the MPS hub on my Park Ave.

FWIW i am seeing the MAP read 6.5psi at the shift on a 3.8" in my car after the headers. no cat. 3" to 2.5" res delete. stock Y section. modded stock mufflers.

He is probably around 800ft above sea level.

I am guessing the manifolds are holding you back and the boost gauge is a little off.

I was running basically the same setup with the only difference being PEMs and seeing 6psi.

Keep in mind guys.. Boost = Pressure backed up in the LIM that you aren't using.

I have uh.. two pulley pullers. Wanna buy one pm me.

this. flow is king here. opening that motor up and letting it breathe > small pulley and no flow.

I agree that the manifolds are probably holding you back.

I'll have to look into PEMs, because I would rather not get rid of the DP, seeing how it is all nicely welded together. I have an extra set of manifolds, is it possible to just port the stock manifolds and crossover out to help with flow or is it a waste of time?

How much? Willing to just Rent/loan one out? I would only need it to remove my stock pulley and install my MPS Hub.

for the cost of (new) PEMs you can buy headers.

You will need to weld them in certain spots in order to really open them up.

Just buy the headers and sell the DP to offset some of that cost. might only end up costing you 125 to 150 in the end and that's a steal.
