    is the plastic part of the knock sensor supposed to wiggle at all?

    Ummm, not that I can recall.

    Front or rear one? Because the front one can be done while the motor and trans are in the car...the rear...one or the other has to come out...

    I just replaced mine last month,was having KR issues and figured why not.
    The plastic plug on my sensor was somewhat flexible,but you could tell they were aging due to the seal being worn. You really shouldn't have much movement between the plastic and metal sensor body,but I've watched people use salvaged sensors that tested good and "wiggled" almost like jello,(exaggerated). If in doubt,try a new set,torque at 14 foot lbs.

    It shoudl not wiggle. And you can get the rear w/o pulling anything..but it's not fun.

    Remember to torque to 14ft lbs as the sensitivity is based on torque
    I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

    I should have said sensitivity relies on the correct torque value. Otherwise it may be over/under sensitive.
    I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
