I i just got a crappy exhaust from this muffler shop today. and when i got on it for the first time today my supercharger sounds like it is knocking. And when so i looked at my aerforce scan gauge it said that it the knock ret. was reading at some were at 3.2 or something like that. And i feel like i lost a ton of power. Need help diagnosing. Im hoping to god i didn't mess to much stuff up.

I have 3.2 pulley, Pace setter headers, with the 3 inch down pipe, 180 t stat, iridium plugs.

where you knocking before the new exhaust? i was going to say it could be false kr... but youre running a tiny ass pulley for your mods.

no it ran perfect before the exhaust. i had no cat no res and no mufflers. no the welded the stuff in the down pipe that was leaking and i have a res. and from the y pipe were it splits to dual's and they put 1.7/8 before i was 3" to 2"1/2 from the cat back. Still have no cat too.

And a buddy of mine that built an 11 sec gtp said i would be able to run this without like cams fine. i just need to get it tuned correctly. ohh and i have the zzp 1.0 and a k/n cold air intake

headers intake and tune should allow you to drop to a 3.6. assuming your car is an 04+ (avatar pic). I hate to say it but your buddy sounds wrong. a 3.2 on a gen V is crazy small. were talking cam, IC, heads....

throw on the 3.5. scan for knock. take it from there

Yeah 3.2 is wayyyyyyy too small. If all the mods you have are the headers, t-stat, and plugs, I'd stay with the stock pulley size. But that's just me...

Ya i read that all before. ill put on my 3.5 but i got to fix that knock first. Just so i completely understand what is KR? and is the Knock retard? or something like that. i cant figure it out when everyone talks about that

like i said. it occured after the exhaust was played with it could be false kr. but i wouldnt bank on it. replace the pulley first.

Edit.. OK i see now. yes kr is knock retard. which usually is caused by running to small of a pulley.

I seriously doubt it's false knock. You have a Gen V with a 3.2 pulley and nowhere near enough mods for it. I have a Gen V with a 3.8 pulley and an intake and I get around 3.5* up to 6* of knock.

mine? i havent done anything performance wise lol just an SD spoiler and roof rails. im planning on an S1X Gen V setup with a bucnh of timing. my lat one had a typical 3.4 setup minus the pulley.

hope your build goes well. keep an eye on that kr, evan the 3.5 is lower than most would recommend.

oh! we'll im going back to that muffler place and telling them i dont want the res. and fix the other piping. and them im going to do some insane tuning. my belt i got i can fit on the 3.5 pulley.

Im about to order some rocker arms from zzp. Do you know if i have to port my heads and stuff to even run that small of a pulley.

If you look at the zzp website. they had a gtp that he did alot less mods than i did and ran a 3.2 pulley it was a 99gtp. he didnt port anything. he just had a 160 t stat
