as you guys know i just got my car a few weeks ago but i am about to make a 2,000 mile round trip from Iowa to Florida so i want to make sure everything is set to go
    so far i have replaced
    plugs and wires
    changed supercharger oil
    fresh oil change
    k&n cone filter
    transmission filter and fluid
    cabin and fuel filter
took the throttle body off and cleaned it to the point of being almost spotless
cleaned the mass air flow sensor with electronic parts cleaner
brakes are about 10k miles old
    tires are about 5k old
    battery is new
coolant is still dexcool but still looks bright orange/red
    t-stat is new
car has 110k miles with no engine lights on

    am i missing anything?

Wiper blades, Tire pressure(including spare), and maybe pour a bottle of fuel injector cleaner in it.

How old are the radiator hoses? I had one of those blow up on me on the road when I first bought the GTP, not a fun thing to happen.

Also don't forget to check the belts. I think mostly those two things are the most likely to leave you by the side of the road.

Yay im going to florida too, again... My trip from Minneapolis to Boston then to Miami.
But i have done like 2 of similar trips but straight from Mpls to Miami, you probably dont necessary need that much stuff i say, unless it really not cared for regularly.

I will be replacing my LIM gasket very soon before my trip, just have realized it was bad and got to fix it immediately.
Have already replaced air filter with cone - self made mod
Ah man i need to do some of those, like supercharger oil and transmission oil change.

Well, good luck with your trip man!

the supercharger belt is brand new, the serpentine belt looks healthy (no cracks or fraying) but i have a replacement i will go ahead and dring
and the coolant lines are stock but i plan on bringing tools for a just in case situation like that, worst case i have AAA to get me to safe non side of the road spot!

thanks guys for you advise and good lucks! keep em coming!

    Get on the road.

I'd have the alignment checked before you leave just because.

Check brake fluid at least or have it flushed. Wash the car too. It's nice to enjoy a clean car, even if for a little while.

Made it! no issues to speak of other then excessive bug guts on the front of the car.

i was driving 70-80 mph and only managed to get 22mpgs (calculated at the pump) this seems really bad after all the tune up parts i put into it, for most of the trip i kept my foot out of it but it doesnt seem to make a difference if i do or not

Went through mobile, Alabama there's a tunnel that goes under the bridge there, it was 11pm so there where only 3 cars in there all in the right lane, i came in saw this and went WOT with the cone filter on my car the supercharger was screaming one of the cars hit their brakes because i think they thought it was some sort of siren, then saw it was just a car and got mad and flew past me when i moved over to the other lane

22 MPG highway is poor. With all of my mods, I get 29 Highway.

Make sure you have a jack and lug wrench along with checking your spare. You wouldn't believe how many people I meet broke down with NO, spare, jack, lug wrench or any combo of the above. OR the best one is they run out of gas just past an exit (on interstate) with a gas station. People amaze and scare me. And there are the college grad dudes that were videoing there trip across the US, made it 120 miles before they ha a flat and NO idea how to change it. The future scares the crap out of me!!!

You should have a code for that.

yeah i guess your right, i just cant understand what i get such terrible mpgs, i think i only stopped once or twice per tank of gas and the most i got out of a tank was 345 miles

the only other things i can think about is maybe i just need to get new o2 sensors and maybe i have a lazy one!?!

    did you calculate your mileage?

miles per tank doesnt mean much if you still have a quarter of a tank left when you fill up.
