Question for people who are full size intercooled. What did you guys use to cut the piece of the bumper frame off to fit the FMHE?
Will a dremel be enough?

Whatchoo talking about Willis?
I tossed in a big ole FMHE onto FourSixer's car last night and didn't need to cut.
i used a sawsall, the dremel will work. get the reinforced disks though. and make sure you paint the cuts to prevent rust.
Bill on some of the FMHE, wbodystore is the one i have, you mount it to the bumper bar. this causes it hang too low and you cant put the air dim back on. so you have to cut the bottom half of the bumper bar and trim some of the plastic on the air dim.

im not a fan of no hood latch support, my bumper hangs too low. and i might not be able to go back in when put the trans cooler on![]()
SMHE time?
I mounted mine under the support. Having kids in my car I wasnt going to risk saftey in a frontal collision by weaking the support. my FMHE is a
Stage 2 core dimensions: 23" wide x 7" height x 3 1/2" thick
Just my two cents. heres how mine hangs

Still have the latch here. Just the bottom of it is removed. Many locals have done this to make room for the core.
mine is that same size one 01 and it was that low for 3 days before i moved it up, im lowered so it was close to the ground and would be the first thing to get hit if something small was in the road and was unavoidable.
You're also going to want to use a sawzall or a die grinder, for cutting the support. A dremel will take a year of sundays lol.
When looking at the cut supports and thinking about it. How much airflow are you getting behind the plastic cover?
Hope he doesn't mind, but I stole these pics off a local car club friends facebook Shawn Larsen. And here's how he did his and how I will be doing mine... Makes it so you can put the plastic piece back on the bottom to help channel the air and just make it look cleaner. Plus me being so low will help keep it off of curbs a bit when I forget what the hell I'm driving...lol If I ever get around to ordering my fmhe and pump that is...

And just get an angle grinder with the a 4" cutting wheel. Should take all of 2 minutes to cut that piece out.
Could buy a harbor freight one for like $20 and it will last about one use, or hit the pawn shops... I got a nice higher amperage Bosch for $40
