Im very new to this site so bear with me, I have a 2000 gtp (stock) and and Im smelling rotten eggs when the car is running, so I imagine that it is the cat going bad. My question iscan I cut it off and just be done with it without having sensor problems? and if not what is the bare minimum that I would have to do to make it right? I really dont plan on modding the car in the future, just a stock kinda guy.

    yeah its prolly bad.

You cant just chop it off without having 1 issue. The rear o2 will now read wrong and cause some fueling issues.

You could buy a new cat or an aftermarket cat and weld it up and then that would fix the problem.

OR remove the cat, weld in a pipe and get the code tuned out by someone with a tuner and be off scott free, but you wont pass emissions if you do that if your state has them.

not if they got the mirror on a stick and are looking to see if you have a cat or not.

or apparently if you are in new jersey and the guy is walking around with the mirror and not looking into it lmao!

when i went to inspection there was van in the line this guy just dragged the mirror around the van and never looked down into it, just scoping out chicks, or lost in space.

i failed for no cat in my 80 power wagon, they saw it was missing.

That's why you can buy a "converter" from Frozen Boost that is a high flow case with a straight through piece of pipe. They are like 30 bucks if your worried about it.
