So I found out that my power steering fluid is really dark in color and it should not be like that, I am planning removing all the power Steering fluid and adding new liquid, I personally don't think that is hard to do but I need to make sure I am not missing any steps in the process is there another thread that shows how to do this and what to disconnect so when I do it I don't go into this project blind sided. Or even better step by step would be amazing thanks

I've heard of a flush machine that some places use, but beyond that..i've never heard of someone changing out their fluid.

Theoretically you could pull off a line and empty the res. Fill.. work it all in..then drain again.

If it works, I don't give it a hard time. Cause I only check the level when the alternator bracket is off. Which means..it hardly ever bothers me...lol

Well the reason is because my steering is normal, but it makes a whine when I turn the wheels even at idle nothing fills different just the noise. That's why I wanna try this before I have to go changing my power steering pump. I mean what else could be causing the whine?

I'd pull some out and add some of the PS Lucas goop. If it works miracles in transmissions..maybe they are onto something.

I will vouch for the Lucas PS additive. When my rack was getting hard to move and was leaking I added about 2 bottles over the course of about 2 years and it kept it alive and almost completely stopped the leak. Made it quieter too.

Of course I knew my rack was on borrowed time but had to get as much out as possible before forking over the $$$ for a new one.

Can you post a vid of this "whine" you are talking about? I'm not trying to make it hard on you, but these cars all have a bit of whine to them even when they are working correctly. Just seems to be the nature of the beast.

I would say as long as the PS is still working properly and you aren't leaking any fluid then leave it be.
