I use 1/4" NPT brass plugs with recessed heads with a little pipe sealant on them. Same goop as you should use for LIM bolts.

If you want to go further you open up the end cap on the LIM that is under the TB and realize why we have poor flow from rear head to front. Then you open that up a bit. By doing this additional step, I kept #4 from running hotter than the other cylinders. Typically the middles run hotter and #4 being in the back, runs the hottest of all.
hmm very interesting, thanks for that info..I'm guessing I can get those brass plugs at home depot?..and I know the rpm plays a big roll, he has a 900 rpm idle vid to with the xp.

    900 rpm xp

YouTube - GTP, XP cam idle vid, 900RPM.

Still think the s1x sounds better and has more lope?

Here is the ultimate question I'd like to get some feed back on...which cam should I buy over the other and why?.. id like to be in the 12s and have good topend with out having to rev past 6400 and use the same valvetrain components listed previously..

GenV...that's quite a big step if you were both on 3.4"s...your comparing apples to oranges guy. A 3.4" on a GenV...is like a 3.2" on your car.

Believe me I know that's why I posted saying he has the advantage, I may be new on here but by no means am I new to the l67/l32... I'm just looking for a little edge to try and even out my gen 3 to his gen v lol....before the cam went in his car and even before I had rockers we would be pretty much dead even....I have a bunch of Vids if interested, and both cars where running kr free...I'm just so impressed with his vs cam, I could only imagine a xp or s1x!.

XP vs S1X, you will find they are nearly the same. One creates a smidge and I mean barely a difference at the low end and the other is a smidge better at the top end. You'd never really notice it in a race though.

On the idling.. Yeah, I'm positive. I've installed at least 3-4 of each and owned an S1X for 4+ years.

You can't go wrong with either, I have an XP and I love it. The reason I chose it over the S1x is because the overlap is a half degree more and comes with a little bit more lift.

The XP utilizes a little more top end which these cars lack...which is why I went with it over the S1X.

going for a pump or just a rewire?

Might want to think about a treperformance.com high flow pump. I've been using a couple for years. If you are aiming for save a buck.

Just a rewire for now ..but maybe a pump eventually. Injectors and rewire new fuel filter and tune should be good for a basic e85 once I have a 2.6 pully and intercooler it will be time for the new pump

my car idles at 900 and its still loopy. In drive with the brake petal depressed you wont notice it too much but when in neutral or park, it sounds a little wild. 4,500-6,000 and up is where this cam really shines. I went with xp after i went for a ride in an xp car, got rid of the rockers and didn't look back.

If you want 6400 rpm shift points, your going to need 1.6 rollers

Chris.. you know how little time I have. I'm only trying to help out. There's a lot of guys that don't realize parts are much cheaper when you aren't paying the overhead and shipping from a 3800 vendor. Can't fault those guys for making money, but heck..the pricing differences on some stuff is ridiculous.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
