ok guys i just want some input, i have a chance to pick up some harland sharp rockers that are 1.8 ratio for $120 i just wanted to know if this would be a good idea to get, my mods are a CAI and full exhaust except for headers, im going to get a reprogramed computer to and a 3.4 pulley, would this be a safe combo?

There was an issue with them at one time as I understand it. With them rubbing up against something and chewing themselves up. That said I was under the impression the issue had been corrected. But there are surely others here that will know more about that than I. I would just make sure they dont look like they have been chewed up. Other than that, wait for some input from others that have more experience with them. There are a few on here that are running them successfully.

^your correct, the early HS rockers they made for our cars were really prototypes made for INTENSE to test and not for sell to us right away as they did. So as usual, we were the testers unknowingly.

The problem was the rocker pedestals were made sot he rockers sat straight once installed. The valve train has a slight offset, and the rockers all must sit at like a 10* angle to the left when you look at the from the front.

The problem was found by a member on clubgp a few years ago who had the problem with the roller tip machining its self into the side of the rocker pretty good. INTENSE had H.S. re work the design and they came up with some revised pedestals that have the offset needed so the rockers don't wear when running. The revised ones will have a little "dot" or drill index machined on them, and that side faces the valve spring.

If the set your buying does not have the dot on them, then no problem, I would just contact INTENSE and request your FREE revised set of pedestals.

As long as the rockers are not worn in too bad with the only known problem these had, then for sure yes, thats a deal and I would jump on them. Just ask for some detailed pictures of the roller tip that makes contact with the valve stem and you should see if any wear or damage to the sides of the rocker body where the roller tip sits in between both sides.

i have the harland sharp 1.9 roller rockers.. i picked those up along with manton racing pushrods for 125 shipped..ive been running them for about 3 months now and theyre fine. they were slightly worn, but not too bad at all.

make sure you install them the rigth way (with the dot on the pedistal facing the valvesping) and inspect the closely befoe installing them.

what are your future plans with your car? For example if your planning on running stock heads with an aftermarket cam then anything but stock rockers may be a waste of money. just something to think about.

I run the Harland 1.9's also. No problems at all. $120 is pretty reasonable price too.

my plan for the car right now is to just be able to run a 3.4 pulley safely, i drive a lot so it needs to be reliable, do you think that a 3.4 pulley, exhaust, CAI, PCM, and the 1.8 RR's would be good enough to run mid 13's?

Maybe consistent high 13's, mid-low 13's could be a stretch.

not on a 3.4 you wont run that fast. unless you have plenty of other supporting mods and run crazy high timing.

fwiw i ran 13.5 on a decent tune with the mods in my sig minus the 2.8 (had a 3.2) the tranny, the xp cam, the lq4 maf sensor...my tranny was holding me back big time. The tune could have been much better...i sucked back then...im still far from the best now...

thats probably about as low as you will be able to go with the ssic. No he wasent running intercooled. He does not even own an intercooler. Matter of fact i dont think he belives in them lol...he leans more twards the cams i think lol

Non intercooled. Meh, I'm not against intercooled at all. I just kinda like going against the grain. I like being able to run close to the same times on just a cammed car as an intercooled car does. Kinda makes that "WOW" factor when you think about running consistent 12's eventually without an intercooler. I do have the Meth setup though, which has helped out a lot since I've learned to tune with it.

A car defines your individuality....if you wanna have a fast n/a.....you're gonna spend a lot of money, but you can break into the 14's with a few mods....

Again...all depends on where you want to go, and how fast you wanna get there.

Rob Archer broke into the 11's with alchy. He did have a LOT of gauges and other stuff in his car to optimize his meth setup. I was considering alchy, until I saw all of the stuff that went a long with it, when he took me for a ride in his Impala. It scared me off, although I'm sure it wasn't as complicated as it appeared. Man that car was fast.

It's not scary.....but a tuner and a wideband is all I need to keep things in check.
