hey guys. i was wondering if there was a vin number anywhere on my motor? i bought a motor from a junk yard because i was going to build the original motor up and fix coolant and oil leaks. when i get the new motor in i realize that the second motor is also leaking. so i was going to try to give them my original motor and get the money back, im kinda desperate for money now.

Not that I recall seeing when I put the engine back in mine, but I really wasn't looking for it either. Usually its a plate of some sort if it has one on it.

No vin, just the engine code is listed.

I'm sure they're NOT going to give you money back for it.

Probably exchange only. If not, they'll give you credit.

I guarantee they have the one they sold you marked.

You wont get money back unless you give them the one they sold you, and don't have another one. If it was a pick a part yard, you buy it, its yours. No returns.

There is a 101 day money back guarentee.

You have to read the fine print on those "money back guarantee's"

Typically they put a heat tag on them. That way if you try and bring it back w/o the tag, they know you overheated it.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

What is it leaking exactly? If it's coolant or oil then those are a simple fix. These motors are not "dry" motors to begin with. Buying a used motor from a jy and expecting it to have no leaks is like going out in the rain and expecting to not get wet.

Change the LIM gaskets, oil pan and valve covers and I'd bet all your leaks will stop for now.
