I am a proud new owner of a 02 grand prix gtp, i just fixed the lights behind the computer but the boost gage says i have no boost.... ever. Is there a connection somewhere that could be bad? any suggestions are greatly appreciated

A good thing to do would be to install a manual boost gauge to double check that you are actually NOT boosting. You can use a vacuum/PSI diagnostic gauge if you have one since it reads vacuum and PSI. You just need a long hose so you can view it from the driver seat while drivng so you can watch the gauge under WOT.
I had a similat problem as you described, I found that the little filter on the end on the BBV solenoid (located in front of BBV vavle) was deterierated and clogged the port it was on. I simply cleaned the end and installed a litttle vacuum 90degree fitting on the end to keep dirt out. Now it boooosssttsssss.

Check the green wire on the plug for the MAP sensor. IF it is dammaged or loose on the plug it will not register boost.

and keep in mind the stock boost gauge only works when you are at a certain speed and certain throttle position. it will not read boost just with regular driving.

i thought the same thing when i got the gtp. then i stepped on it and it went UP UP UP.

also, on the interstate in 4th gear, give it some throttle without changing gears you'll see it then, too.
