So i decided that over the summer and winter, i am going to purchase a L32 and build it for my 04 grand prix gt2(probably spring of next year it will go in). I'm not a mechanic, but my dad is. I will be saving this thread so i can go back and revist it for what i need to buy.
    So far i have
    K&N air filter setup
    3A racing exhaust.

This is a DD, but i won't mind 14+ MPH, i am shooting for atleast 250+ WHP, i would like 300 WHP, But you guys are the experts, so please tell me if thats possible, and what i should get. I'm new to this, so be easy on me.
So far i'm going to have to get a triple edge performance built trans towards spring, and some speed daddy headers. What else should i get for the WHP i want?
    Thanks

dont even touch the bottom end on the motor. hell, you dont even need to run a cam to get 250whp.

what are your ACTUAL goals with the car? ever going to take it to the track (how fast do you want to go)? want it to sound really cool or just be quick and quiet? need more info. lots of it.

just to have a fast car for once, 350WHP would be awesome. I do want it to be reliable (i know, iffy with doing mods) since it is my DD. I would love to beat my friends nova, but he just bought some LS motor, so thats doubtful. I might take it to a track once and a while.
The 3A racing exhaust sounds pretty good so far, so not to much louder, but i do want it to be quick.
I'm guessing i will have about a $2000 budget just for mods, i will have money for the engine and trans.
    What else do you need?

Which speed daddy headers should i get, none of them say they will fit my 04 grand prix?

    2: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/REGAL...Q5fAccessories

Also, How much will the built trans roughly cost, $2500?

A turbo won't cost $4000. Do a little snooping around, I'm sure you could find a used turbo kit for cheap. The Z3 kit on ZZP isn't too bad of a price either. With all the money I spent going supercharged, I wish I just went turbo been done with it.

why doesn't he just put a cam in when he does the transmission? The motor has to be out anyways. Would be better than rockers and add more top end.

Bigger is not always better, rockers/ic build won't kill a tranny right away and would give him plenty of power and reliability for a fwd DD.

I know where to get the stuff.

The engine will be out while I do all the mods to it, since I will be driving my car while I save money and find a l32.

I was just saying why not cam and ic it? About the same cost compared to rockers since the engine is already out. VS cam would be nice.

As for the tranny it, the setup difference would mean very little compared to how he drives it. If he uses it as a DD and eases into acceleration it should last a while. And wouldn't less low end and more top end be a better setup for preserving a transmission?

The trans probably won't come till mid summer next year. I am pretty easy on the throttle since gas is $4.19 a gallon.

Why on earth would u cam something then "ease into acceleration" IMO rockers are better for a daily. Maybe that's just cuz when I cam, boy do I cam haha

okay, we overlooked something. He would put the cam in when he is putting in his built transmission. Don't have to worry about it holding up. IC and a cam would get him to his 300whp.

The engine would probably go in first, so I know I would have to baby it a little. I meant by building this engine, that it won't be in for a bout a year, and it will be in our barn.
    So cam or rockers?
Anything I need from going from a N/A engine to the l32?
