Hey guys. I just pulled my motor because of an extreme oil leak. I am going to replace the oil pan gasket, front gasket and the crank seal. But I needed some help. Does anyone have info on that. And also what else should I change to stop an oil leak?

It depends on where the leak is coming from...

The oil leak is coming from the passenger side of the motor. I had a studdering problem due to plug gap, and after I fixed it I stared to give it more gas becase I missed it lol. And 2 days later the oil leak was horrible. The next night I pulled into my garage and left a solid line of oil behind. So you had the front gasket and crank seal replaced at a machine shop... how much did that run you?

Check the oil pressure sensor. It connects near the oil filter and is part of the housing. These have been known to leak right at the electrical connection and cause quite a mess with the oil.

i had a complete rebuild with performance stuff also installed so the total cost of my rebuild was like 1100 and had them do the short and long block assembly but then again everywhere else is different but if its the front im sure it should be easy especially if u already have the motor out. best thing u can do is look at the repair manual or ask the dealership how to replace it not saying have them do it cuz itll prob cost u an arm and a leg but ask them how.

And I also forgot to mention that oil gets on the belt so it sprays oil on the firewall snout and hood.

You don't have anything over there that should be able to do anything more than seep, except for the oil pressure sensor.

Clean it down, then run it and look for the leak. Clearly it's leaking enough to visually see it. Find the leak, fix the leak...

Don't pull a motor just to do it. Honestly..it's not that much fun.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

Well the problem is that I already pulled it because I thought it was the front gasket and I just wanted to know a little more about it. But thanks guys.

Well hell, at that point I'd go through all of the motor and replace any/all parts that I can. Probably would replace the rack too if its leaking.

Man, that's a lot of work/time for something that could be simple. I just hope that once you get it all back in you still don't have a leak
