I believe that I have a intake gasket needing repalced. I am getting some coolant seeping on the drivers side, and also oil around the top corner of the front valve cover. I have replace the valve cover gasket w new as well as the PCV valve.
Has anyone replaced this themselves? Any suggestions, and what else I should look at while I have this apart?

    Thanks

    It's pretty straight-forward...
Use the search, and you'll find write-ups, and quite a few threads on the subject.

Basically, you pull the Supercharger and LIM. You'll need to get 2 new coolant elbows that go from the alternator bracket into the LIM and motor. That and a set of the revised metal gaskets. Dont use the plastic ones, they dont hold up.

It's a decent afternoon job. Good weekend job if its the first time working on the motor.

Pretty much done with a 10mm socket, and a 13mm....that's about it

Thanks for the info. I have already replace the coolant elbows, one was seeping. Any other recommendations, i.e. other items to R&R while I am at this?

Get another set of coolant elbows. $4 is tough to beat for the insurance.

Do the LIM's, plenum (SC to LIM) gasket), TB, elbows, and if you didn't replace the grommets when you did the valve cover gasket, do VC gaskets as well with the grommets.

Trust me.. having the $6 gasket on hand is worthwhile. Kinda like ahving an extra set of $4 elbows hanging around.

Thanks for reminding me to buy some more.

Has anyone looked into metal replacements?

Job completed. Took approx 12 hours of work over 3 days. Parts cleaning took the most time, SC was dirty. I used Brake Cleaner and carb throttle body cleaner sprays. I took my time, taking pictures to remember where everything went and was routed. R&R lower (metal), upper intake manifold gaskets, 12 injector o-rings, valve cover gaskets, TB gasket, Spark plugs, 2 Belts, 2 coolant elbows, 190 t-stat, oil indicator stick, fuel filter, oil, SC oil, PS fluid, brake fluid and coolant change.. post test run. Back plugs were a pain even with everything removed. I pulled the fuel manifold spider off injectors, should have left on and removed with injectors attached and reinstalled attached..made it harder on myself. And what are the odds of my battery crapping out within a week of completing work, and on top of that I think I have a front right hub noise (new < 1yr ago)?? All in all <$500 in parts and cleaning supplies.
