Timing chain dampner or something with the timing chain, is my guess...

Gonna have to pull motor or drop it just enough to get at it from the wheel well. If you get mad or want to walk away, just remember batwood and how dedicated he is.

see and this is the wierd thing up top witht he stethascope the sound is even thru the flex plate and thru the timing cover.
But underneath the car it seems loudest and seems tlike it is coming from the flex plate... Can a sound from a flex plate travel over to the timing cover like that?

All you have to do is jack it up and take the wheel off...as many times as I had my motor out I just left all that plastic shielding and BS off the car...you don't have to drop the subframe or anything to remove the front cover...just take off the belts and the accessories and pulleys/etc...drain fluids...etc.

Jack up the car. Loosen the engine crade on the driver side and drop the passenger side if you need more working space. That's how I did my cam. Be careful when you do it, its nothing worth losing a limb over.

1/4" drive socket...you can squeeze it in there without moving anything cradle wise.

ok just a little while ago i pulled all belts off jsut to make sure it wasnt w/p or anything like that. And with all belts off it still does it and i toke each spark plug wire off one at a time and that did not do anything either. But while the belts were off i stuck my long screw driver right behind the dampner pulley (or w.e. its called, the lowest pulley on the block thats on the front of timing cover) and it was super loud there. And the nosie even shoke my screwdirver in my hand... so..........im guessing its behind that

Could be, go try it. It wont hurt anything, unless you drop your car on your self then minor damage may result.
