Your issues with running a smaller pulley is going to depend solely on what kind of mods you have to support that pulley. I have no problem running a 2.8 on 110+ degree days. You on the other hand are going to be a different story if you try.

You need to worry more about opening up your intake and your exhaust as well so that all that extra air can go somewhere since your probably already getting knock right now as it is. Get a intake (A real intake, not some AutoZone or Ebay junk), colder spark plugs (Autolite 104's), open up your exhaust, and you'll be set to run a 3.5 or 3.4 pulley at the most.

He has a Series III (Gen V), so those sizes aren't right me thinks.

Still uses the same pulleys. He can run a 3.4/3.5 with his Gen V if he does some small stuff first.

Ah, I was under the impression those sizes were fairly aggressive for a Gen V.

    A 3.4 on a GEN V is like a 3.2 on a GEN III.
