Do you mean a tuner?
Use the search function to find information for all your options and decide for yourself.
Yeah a tuner. I searched but i just figured i would get some peoples input on how they liked everything. Right now i'm leaning toward hp tuner but its pretty expensive.
lesson to learn... 9 times outta 10 you get what you pay for when it comes to car mods and such...
I did a lot of research before I made a purchase and I ended up with HPTuners if that helps. It costs more, but its still available from the manufacturer, the forum on their site gets questions answered quickly, a dynoshop near me uses it, support is quick to respond to e-mails and its an evergrowing software with new applications being supported all the time.
DHP is less expensive and doesn't require credits to unlock vins, but it requires a lot more tuning skill and time to do the same things HPT can do.
^^^^X2 hp tuners is a much better program a little more pricey but well worth it!!! power tuner is no longer around and is out of date. hp tuners in more widely used and is easier to understand.
My question to you is, Do you have any experience using a DHP? It's not hard to learn at all. Most people think they can just jump into tuning off a little reading and then use a user friendly tuner like hpt. DHP has just as much to offer, it's just for people who can learn more on their own then having the system help them.
I do not have personal experience with DHP, however I have been told it is a good tool for in depth learning as far as tuning goes, however its said to be a much more time consuming process.
I do intend to pick DHP up sometime in the future so I can experiment with it.
HP Tuners. I have had awesome results with it, and I started with zero experience. Be prepared to do a lot of reading and research before you start anything though.
So hp tuners cost money to tune more cars and dhp is free? Hp is more user friendly? I'm thinking i'll be getting a hp tuner when my cash flow allows.
I use DHP, i like it because it was cheap and intended for use on the 3800 specifically along with a few other fwd chevy/buicks/pontiacs
its hard to learn, once you learn it you will be an expert
I started with DHP and then switched to HP Tuners DHP is nice and i was able to tune others cars without making them pay for any credits (which was nice) but DHP has more of a learning curve to it and support on the forums isn't like it use to be, so when using DHP Forums for support you will find that the easiest way is to search and search and then you will finally find what you need.
Now HP Tuners the learning curve isn't to hard alot of people use the Copy and Paste special which makes things easier, and support is a whole lot better the only down side is that you have to pay for credits once you run out of the ones that come with the tuner.
My Suggestion would be go with HP Tuners it might cost more but i fell like it is worth it.
*Note DHP can change certain tables that you can not change threw HPT, and HPT has tables that you can not change is the DHP Editor
