Alright guys I have a idea and need to know the exact amount of teflon on the rotors of a gen 3. Like how thick is it 5 thousands 10?. My idea is at bullesye here we have been experimenting with a hard coating process. We have done the journal bearings on the turbos and so far they can be run without any oil at all with no signs of wear which is huge for the turbo process. We do not sell these yet cuz the adheasion process is a little off to coat brass. Our race cars shut the cars off after crossing the 1/8th mile but the turbo is still at 100,000-150,000rpms so the turbo is instanly fried and in need of a rebuild if not more. So we came up with this idea just not tested on any cars yet just our turbo dyno. So i would like to get my rotors coated for nos, meth, etc. The coating is virtually indestructable. We've thrown sand in the turbo while running with no wear at all. This is not TiNC coating. Its harder at 70 rockwell and is used in aircraft applications.
I am also thinking of getting my SC case coated as well becuase the coating works well against itself as far as wear. It wont wear when rubbed against itself so the rotors and case would be ideal.
This coating is also heat dissapating and oil inpregnated. It polishes alot like polished stainless as far as the look.

Im interested in getting this done but need to know the thickness of the teflon so my clearances are the same or better

Not forever just basically for the race cars for hot shutdown. One time and its a minimum of $100 for rebuild so it saves them alot of money

And i mispelled the title. How do i edit that

    ask someone who recoats blowers.

theres a holden guy on here who's had it done.

The key is timing the rotors once you reassemble.

The supercharger coating is designed for the rotors to wear against each other for a tight tolerance. If you coat them with something that is that hard and won't wear into each other, your supercharger might not be able to turn.
