Anyone know why when doing something like merging on the highway, my torque converter clutch kicks in and I immediately loose throttle response. At that point any little increase in throttle raises the boost gauge. The exhaust gets louder but, the car doesn't seem to want to accelerate as long as the torque converter is engaged.

If you're engaging lockup then it's a 1:1 direct connection and any increase in throttle will increase load exponentially. You'll also see an increase in boost accompanied with a throatier exhaust/ intake sound. This is normal so long as it comes out of lockup if you give it enough throttle.

You should be able to temporarily unlock the TCC by tapping the brake pedal enough for it to read (aka lights come on). See if that works for a moment.

Something seems off within your trans. Any other odd symptoms?
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
