ok guys and gals im in a debate here ive looked at both cams and intercooling im torn between the two, i like the sound of the nic cam sounds pretty aggressive but the intercooler retains that sleeper look and sound so my question is does anyone run the nic if so wat the supporting mods zzps write up on it seem a little sketchy to me and wat the cheaper of the two routes. GO CAM OR INTERCOOLER

goals for the car? how much money do you want to spend? if you want to drive the car daily you probably dont want a NIC.

the reason people can run small pulleys on a NIC is because they need to. the NIC bleeds boost.

an intercooler would be a better choice than a NIC, but if you want to go cammed there are better choices for that too.

can you run 1.9 rockers with an aftermarket cam?
perhaps a better question, is max height achieved with aftermarket or stock?
99 GT - top swapped, S2X cam. - sadly, sold
    96 Firebird Formula - T-tops and exhaust leak. 14.26 @ 97.8 - sold
2008 Chevrolet Cobalt SS - stock, in all of it's turbocharged awesomeness

you can't go much higher than .600" without serious work.

Not that lift means much really.

The overall lobe shape matters quite a bit, but you can't really tell based on the limited cam specs they give you.

But these motors are easy to mod because you can't change the bore/stroke, two head options, stock or ZZP's AL etc etc etc etc.

Basically you can look at what others have made power wise with different cams and mods then decide for yourself what you want.

I would have to agree with NIC.. Full Size Intercooler...Tune.. Crazy small pulley... E85... Injectors... I would throw in a XP cam. But thats just me.

Lift is not really your friend when playing around with mild bolt on stuff like this. Run stock rockers and enjoy the cheapness, reliability, and great performance they offer.

Running a full sized intercooler with a NIC is fairly pointless overall... Intercoolers suck horsepower by causing a fairly significant intake restriction, and the gains from running an intercooler are not as clear as running one on XPZ cam or something.

I am personally a big fan of the NIC... It has made great power in very very cheap setups for me in the past. Toss the cam in, put headers on, and make 300whp.

Meh, it cant be that hard to put the right timing curve in and lower PE a bit. You just need to get a bit more fuel than stock to it, and remember that the narrowband is completely useless.

NIC is a nice cam, but if you don't have access to a solid tune, an XP will be better. XP is probably better for IC'd setups too.
