    i just but a cone air filter on my 2004 GTP and i want to take the rest of the air box of. but idk were to place this stupid. ECM.. i dont want it to just hang there but i dont want to wire tie it to anything dont want it to get to hot. where did u guys place urs?

    right where it lays, just zip tie it down, they are weather proof and shock proof

    I left that part of my air box in, but dremelled a lot of it off to allow my intake setup to fit.
    2005 GTP - AL 605's gapped at .055", SD headers, WAI with 9" cone air filter, 180 degree t-stat, green coolant, otherwise stock.

    No, not really. It's sitting in the engine bay just like any other WAI you will see, but the stock air box has been trimmed down to where its only holding the PCM in it.
    2005 GTP - AL 605's gapped at .055", SD headers, WAI with 9" cone air filter, 180 degree t-stat, green coolant, otherwise stock.

    i tore out everything, but on the box i just cut the top off and left the tray intact, basically made a pcm tray out of the stock airbox.
    04 GTP - FOTB, Intense PCM, 180* Thermo, SLP Headers, 3.4" ZZP Modular Pulley, Moroso Race Wires, 104 Plugs, TEP trans: 3.29's, Thrasher shift kit. Soon to come: 13 inch dual piston brakes, rims and tires, wideband tune by PRJ.

    Yep, that's pretty much what I did too. Why go out and buy a PCM tray when you've already got one? And why strap the PCM to the body for the same reasons as well?

    That and you can get a mid 90's S10/Blazer 4.3 Vortec PCM tray in a junkyard for like $5...clean it and throw it in and it looks worlds better...
