    Hi,
I have a 2001 GTP, and just recently there has been a whining sound coming from the belt drive area of the motor. I have also noticed a grease type substance that is on the firewall and coolant resivour. Also the sound speeds up when you rev the car up. I have no experience with super chargers. I think it could be just a pulley from my experiences with naturally aspirated engines, but i am not sure. any help would be appreciated.

the grease could be from a busted cv boot. it usually will sling up there when your driving.

Power steering leak. Check the level of your power steering fluid; I guarantee it's low.

    ^^X2.

I'd also want to bet the CV boot tore AND the PS fluid levels are low...so he has all the built up grease + the whining.

like i said all of the fluid levels are good and the whine is coming from around the pulleys of the belts, and there are no leaks what so ever.
