lol man im trying anything i can to save gas, thats the point of this project to have a car that looks good and peforms good when i want it but still be able to get good mpg. i just hate the gearing they put in the 5th of the world class t5. im doing 2300 rpms at 70 mph. with a 3.23 rear. it just feels so stupid since im use to the t56 6 speed. the 5th gear in the world class is the same 5th on a t56 but man u put the 6th gear in and the motors just chilling at 70.

Yeah, that 6th is geared for inter-stellar travel. The 3.4 won't hurt fuel economy as much as your driving habits or that T5. Not even close. Especially if you go rockers instead of cam.

short gears suck. this is why if i break it ill have no problem upgrading to longer, stronger gears.

So am I the only one that thinks he will have higher wheel HP numbers with a 5 speed? I know everyone gives kuntzie sh!t because he makes tons of HP on a 5 speed. Your MPG are probably also better. I would also highly suggest investing in a MPS that way you can change pulleys within minutes.

I'd almost guarantee he'll have higher numbers with his 5 speed. Even bone stock the difference between an auto and a 5 speed is pretty significant from what i've heard.

i cruise at 1600ish in my LT1 firebird. it's pretty sweet. it's gone as low as 1200 going up a hill, not even struggling. i probably get better milage than i do in the grand prix

bump i got a tune from dan at masport. just did a base tune to make it all work like stock and never got a chance to go back to do some serous tuning. pretty much he just advance the timing a bit on stock pulley and im already spinning first and 2nd being easy on the clutch with stock pulley. since im really broke i haven't got a chance to do **** to the car in forever, ive been dailying it all this time with no issues. and sorry guys i work monstrous hours and im looking for another job. so i can just chill with 40 hours a week. only mods i have is CAi, wowbro fuel pump and deviels own meth injection. i got a 3.2 pulley ready to go on but will need tuneing in order to do so. and sorry guys no write up its just a real long process and i had to do some crazzy adaptions. luckily its been reliable and hasn't given any problems at all, ive even taken it to orlando a few times already. mpg? i have a 3.42 rear an a ****ty .78 fith gear. im doing 2k rpms at 60 mph. maybe with if i get a better job ill see if i can replace that 5th gear into something like a .72 or lower. i avg 19 city and 26 highway going by the scan gauge.
