I am wondering if I could get by for awhile by boosting premium octane (93) to the 94-96 range? I have a pcm tuned by 3800performance for a 3.4 setup, intake, colder ngk plugs and fresh plug wires. I know i at least need a downpipe and or p-log otherwise, but can't right now.

wait till you get a plog, downpipe and or headers.

just pumping up the octane wont do anything really.

    ...cam, youre wrong.

yes, you could probably get away with bumping up the octane and running a 3.4 pulley. however, bumping up the octane by one or two points will net you nothing and youre better off on a stock pulley. you wont be able to get any real amount of octane unless you mix your own race gas and use a few gallons of that every tank.

therefore, dont even debate it and work slowly by accumulating parts and then putting them all on later.

wutever. its still not even close to worth it to be putting race gas in the car, cuz it cost so dam much.

anyway on the subject i have a 3.4 with 3in cat-less dp, and exhaust, cai, ngk's, accel wires running 93 w/octane booster every tank and maybe on a bad day hit 2 degrees kr with no pcm tune. i guess every car varies. like some people have more mods then me with the same pulley and are pushing 10-12 psi. I spike 9-9.5 and hold around 7-8 psi just varies i guess

More boost means you need more flow mods...I'd be scared if my 3.4" setup was making 12psi.
