you mean DISABLE, not remove. removing it calls for plugging of some oiling holes that takes extra work that you dont want to do. you're just taking the gear off so it doesnt spin.

There is just one oil hole you plug...but the block has to be totally apart so it can be cleaned out and drilled. Don't listen to ZZP...they have lots of misinformed articles and information.

Plus...deleting the balance shaft doesn't really do anything you'll notice on the butt dyno...its just for every 2.something pounds removed from the rotating assembly your rumored to gain around 7 crank horsepower...plus a quicker, freer revving motor. Maybe that's why Nick thinks mine revs fast...I have no idea.

Your balance shaft weighs 2500 g IIRC.

    L36 weighs 2000 g and L67 is 2500.

Leave the balancer in. My balancer is still in on mine w/ the double roller. Why not take off the top end take the front head off and look at the cylinders....This will take approx 3-5hrs. (This is the time you have consumed posting) . It dont take much to get the top ends off these cars.

I think you have a intake gasget leak on more then one cylinder. Mine is all stock with 212,000 and I had a melted one on #1 when I changed plugs for its second tune up and it was missing this cured it but now its missing and pinging. The dealership told me it needed a gasget 25,000 miles ago when it was in for the valve cover gasget recall but I blew it off. That would explain high cylinder temps.

The high cylinder temps are from the low timing when he was knocking, which lead to higher EGT (exhaust gas temps)...not from a gasket leaking...your stealership is lying to you.

In his case it probley is the timing mines not modded but on mine im sure its intake gasket leaking which would make it lean the plugs had 100,000 miles on them, and only one was damaged. It also has a code from the rear o2 of bad catalist does this mean the cats burnt from raw fuel or is it the sensor it self. Also do know if a 99 gtp has exhaust manifold gaskets in between heads and manifolds,if not how do i fix them from leaking. Found this out when I seafoamd it.

Intake gasket might foul out a plug. Its not going to Lean a plug. Or melt a plug. Your rear cats probobly clogged, and yes theres a gasket for the exhaust manifolds
And who runs plugs for 100K miles
