Sorry if this has been posted a million times but I wanted to see what gas mileage everyone else was pulling. Im currently pulling:

    Stock 01 GTP - With a drop in K&N

The display reads 20mpg, but i swear it burns more than that. I dont really push it that hard. Any recommendations for better millage. A

Currently, I am running an average of 26-27. I drive 100 miles a day, and probably 40% highway, 60% city/back country roads. I have really changed my driving style in the past couple months. Take off slower from red lights and stop signs. No more than 5mph over the posted speed limit. Try to coast more and time red lights better. All this has helped more than anything with fuel mileage.

Last tank I got 29mpg, 60% of that was highway. So I am sure I could get 34+mpg on an all highway trip.

Start by going back to a stock t-stat. The warmer the engine is, the more efficient it is....to a point. But running a stock stat should increase your MPG.

Don't trust the DIC. It's a guesstimate that usually reads high and is based off the air flow reading from your MAF. It doesn't take into account any fuel used for enrichment and assumes a constant 14.7:1 A/F.

FWIW, I get about 24-25MPG mixed right now. I've pulled over upwards of 33MPG on the interstate, though. 80MPH.

My display usually tells me I am getting between 21 and 22 mpg, but I found that is inacurate and am actually getting between 20 and 21... to check, next time you fill, hit your tripometer to 0, then when you fill up again divide your miles driven by the gallons you put in, this is completely accurate.. providing that you speedometer is working properly of course.

Wow 29mpg. I have NEVER gotten over 21.9mpg on the vehicles display. The car is bone stock btw. Also it has had its fuel injectors cleaned (i know that always will allow the car to burn a little more gas) but it hasnt affected the car by much.

I drive the car about 22 miles a day (thats a rough guess. Ill find out the exact # tmw). Ill try just driving like its a old mans buick and see if the gauge changes at all.

I always resest the display (sorry i dont know the correct term for it) every day. I have had the car for about 2 months now.

Ill let you guys know how the "buick" driving goes. Although I do enjoy giving it gas occasionally.

I average around 16-17 in town with the ac on of course. I see 30-32 on the highway with the ac on. Did I mention I always have the ac on? lol. Plus all of our roads go up and down up and down. Damn mountains.

I get between 30-34 highway, around 22 city. I got better gas mileage after the mods, but with my foot off the gas a bit.

What mods did you do? I would be happy if headers/cai yielded better mpg,

A true CAI won't increase your mileage and may actually lower it some. Cooler air is more dense which means more fuel is used (meaning more power, hence why we want them).

That sounds about right to me. My car starts getting a good bit less mpg at 80 compared to 70. Plus I have a lot of up and down hills so its hard to get real good mpg.

That is your problem. Drive at the speed limit, and don't change much. And don't go over 2k RPMs. Is it hard to do, yea if you are not used to driving that way. But it can be done and it saves tons of fuel.

    Try it.

you pick your favorite number between 65 and 80 (preferably with the flow of traffic) and set cruise control and you'll notice a jump in freeway MPG like for instance sometimes a set it at 69 not to slow not to fast and every time i see the HUD it makes my day a little better and than i watch my MPGS slowly but surely go up but if you really want to know what you get highway than once you get on the freeway just reset the meter considering that includes all of the rest of the driving you did prior and averages it out

Keep in mind, the DIC is for relative changes. It is somewhat inaccurate of your true MPG.
