So, sometime in the near future, I'd like to start a little build on a 3800. I'm soon to get a cam/intake/carb for my camaro and it'll be driveable.. So I'm gonna start feeling around for a 3800 and a getrag 282/4 for the GP.

I've got a 1990 buick, with a 3800, but I didnt know if it'd be worth messing with, or should I try and find a newer motor?

Im very new to the v6 world, but I do wanna go with a pretty good sized cam.. Recomendations?

I may see about getting another whole car to work on but i love my white one. It wouldnt be the same.
So, I need cam recomendations, and also, would the newer model cars (01 ) SC fit on the older motors?

In the end, I want a supercharged motor, with cam, and 5 speed..

you need a series II 3800.... 98 and newer blocks and heads are preferred.

    Import a 2001 - 2005 holden monaro with a V6.

Its got what you want and its RWD.

buy a car with a getrag 284 then start swapping parts over...

    Simple really.

You need to have the flywheel ground and you have to use an L36 block and get the flywheel from an F body 3800.

Do some searching. I can't think of the guys name off the top of my head but he built a turbo 5 speed GP. He has a pretty detailed build on here somewhere.

Also, Curado on here did an extensive write-up with a G6 GTP 6-speed on our local boards.

i like the idea of the 6 speed.
i'm gonna do lots of reading, lots of reading, lots of reading, and planning.. and saving...
I want the current bodystyle though.. I want in a 01 GT.. and i'll put the same decal on it, as whats fixing to go on my car. Cam-Only GT

The car dosent have a cam, but my real name is cameron.. so it fits..and MY g/f and i are the only 2 people i allow behind the wheel, its basically a "Cam"eron only car

Unless you're looking for a project, I think you'd be better buying a GTO.

kuntzie, do you have any pics of your trans install or final product? I'm slightly interested in the manual trans swap.

Hey matt do you know if it's possible just to get the "90 degree bend" that comes of the supercharger on the RWD holden....or an entire supercharger since it would probably be easier to find both together.

Last one I saw blocked off the TB entrance then cut a hole in the side of the case and had something welded onto that and into an LS1 TB.

    Was quite cool.

But quite costly to install a mediocre blower.

^^^^ exactly.....i would probably only need minor banging of the firewall (if any at all)for the aussie blower to clear my camaro....and i would need the L67 coil pack bracket...custom intake....top swap....and misc. sh1t. like a radiator hose since the thermostat and housing would be on the back instead of the front...unless it's on the front on the aussie cars..idk...

But then thers the cowl...i could put a 1 inch lower kmember on it and that would give a little bit of room for an intercooler.....to hell with the cowl...ill just chop the damn thing of..jk lol....anyway....i hijacked your thread day dreaming..i apologize lol
