Last time I ran my car at the 1/8th mile track, it acted weird. I made one good run with no problems. On my next run, the car ran fine up until about 60+ mph and it sputtered a little and cut out. When I was back in the staging lanes for my next run, I turned the car off. It wouldn't start up after that...not immediately anyway. Eventually I got it to fire. On the next run, the car went down the track fine, but after I let off at the end of the track the car died. Again, it had a hell of a time starting. After it was running I drove it home fine with no other problems. I checked the codes and I had a MAF code (P0121 I believe). The car's had an o2 sensor code since I bought it...needs tuned out.

The only other time it's ever had any rough idle or trouble starting is after I fuel up. But after a few tries it's fine and will drive normal. Also, it's never had an EVAP code since I bought it...which, to my understanding, is associated with fuel.

The car doesn't have a MAF screen either... Ideally I'd like to get a new MAF and put a tb screen back in the car. Any other guesses or suggestions?

    TIA

Some cars are finicky about that screen. If that is not the fix i would have someone look at your maf on a scope and see what it is doing.

Car acts up three weeks ago and it's not a concern until now. Hopefully you haven't taken a chunk out of a piston.

Put the screen back in, might solve most of your problems right there.

Weeeelllll I was SUPPOSED to get another MAF, among other parts, off a crusher Regal. I was gonna try that first but my dad's "friend" crushed the car when I got back from vacation.

Might have to spend more money on it now and I was wondering if it could have been anything else.

Does it sound like it could be a fuel problem also? Under normal driving it hasn't failed me yet though.

Lemme put it this way.. if you cut your leg and it's gushing blood, would you want three weeks to address it? You are talking about the well being of your motor.

Shoulda, coulda... it's all the same. Three weeks is a long wait and potentially many other issues can crop up.

Is that screen back in yet?

I'm in College and I don't know of any where I'm at. When I go home this weekend I might see if the local ones have any L67 cars because I'm needing several parts.

Might run up to a pick n pull in KC and just get it over with.
