    2004 Grand Prix GTP CompG
    -
-Knock Sensor voltage low bank 2 CODE P0332

-Cylinder 3 misfire (not bad though so no code came up for it)

-car bogs down and has loss of power much more noticable at light throttle.
-also when going around 35 in 3rd gear, i give it some gas so it drops into 2nd and before this problem it would have some pull to it. now when it does it accelerates slower.

so ive replaced my knock sensor twice now since the code came up for the first time. the first time i replaced it the problem got a little better. the second time i replaced it 2 days ago the problem seemed completly gone. except came back a day later but its not too noticable.

the power lag is only noticable at lighter throttle, then kicks in as you press the gas further.

I connected an ethos scanner to it. knock sensor code came up but when i went into engine diagnosis for misfire, cylinder 3 was missing occasionally but i guess not enough to trigger a misfire code? so im thinking thats what could be triggering the knock sensor code???

ive replaced the plugs and wires. put coil packs on it from my 2001 grand prix since the contact points looked a lot better. (the ones on my 2004 one had a bunch of corrosion on it.)

check engine light still comes on after driving for the knock sensor but it has to be something else right?

only mod is an intake. ANY help is appreciated. need to figure this out i dont know where to go from here.

when the knock sensor was replaced everything was torqued properly and coolant refilled both times. so im almost positive that is not the problem.

doubt the knock sensor is causing the performance issue... mine was unplugged for months after a motor swap... never caused any issues.

First thing I'd do is read up on the code. I've found the FSM's are scanned in at Gearchatter.com for other GM's, but they are all the same stuff and steps for us. Search there for your code.

Now.. which sensor has been replaced, front or back? Bank 2 IIRC is the back one. The back sensor has an extension wire on it that comes from the sensor and clips on the back of the ps pump (stock). If enough work has been done on the car, that wire will be laying on the trans and possibly near the spinning axle. From there it heads into the loom, around the entire motor and to the pcm.

A power problem doesn't mean bad sensor. Read up on that FSM page and you'll see what I mean. Could be as silly as a fuse that feeds the circuit, but I doubt it.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

Sounds like could be a clogged cat convertor. Had to replace mine with less than 100,000 on the car. Problem was lack of power on acceleration. Idled fine but wouldn't go very fast. I thought it was the tranny going bad and had it rebuilt, thats when the tranny shop informed me that the cat needed replacing also so when I picked the car up, it had the same problem as when I took it in there. My friend who has a muffler shop told me that it was the clogged cat all along and that the tranny was probably fine which needless to say didn't make me very happy with the tranny shop. I would have a backpressure check done. If they dont have one they can always pop a whole in the pipe in front of the cat which can be welded if its not.

Do what Bill Boost said. Check the wiring for the knock sensor in the harness. I would also do a resistance check from the knock sensor connector to the pin at the pcm and check for continuity.
