I had this problem pop up a few weeks ago but today it's very worse...

Under light acceleration around 4,500 RPM or so the engine would lose power and make a stumbling sound. Today it was happening at any increase of throttle that would kick in some boost. While it was making the stumbling farting sound I noticed that the boost gauge would peg.

Before I thought this was a bad O2 sensor or maybe a need to replace the fuel filter but now it seems like something to do with the supercharger? I do have a constant SES - P0440 for my evac system that I have not fixed yet. Could they be related? Something else???

UPDATE!! ----I fixed my issue,,, it was a short,,, previous owner replaced the plugs and wires,,, and a few weeks that's when I bought it,,, then later on the metal on the o2 sensor got hot was shorting out on the rear drivers side plug wire, as they were touching. So I fixed the plug wire and tied them back from each other. thanks for all the help anyhow.

No breathing mods...with a cam and smaller pulley...GENIUS!

Like stated...pull the plugs and hope one isn't bent.

Thanks for the replies, I'm going to replace the fuel filter and check the plugs.

...and thanks for the criticism... Next time I'm looking for advice I'll think twice about posting here without advertising EVERY mod instead on only the ones that may seem relevant.

exhaust leaks are common with headers on these cars and can easily cause misfires and stumbling.

I'd try a higher quality plug... E3's if you look at them show signs of poor casting quality.

    Try autolite 104's.

    It's called contructive criticism...can't take it? It's the internet...sorry.

You asked for help...I posted what I thought. If you don't like it...tough cookies jeeves. These cars are prone to popping pistons. Hence why I said CHECK YOUR PLUGS.

^Unfortunately for you OP, Blue is correct. And he was being nice about it.

I had similar mods (no cam though) and a weak fuel pump and killed #6 piston.

I also did'nt see any mention of a tune?

Forum fail because you didn't do basic maintenance like fuel filter?

Cracked plugs happens because people dont put them in properly...

    And over torque them.

Had another customer with the same issue. Cheap 'performance' coils made in China.
