Re: Suggestions on Modding
HAH! Lawl...I almost lost it...touche...that was funny.
Re: Suggestions on Modding
anyway... I'd recommend SD headers and an open cone for first step too.

Sorry I missed this...but they were unclear...I'm guessing it is.
Re: Suggestions on Modding
So at first I'm thinking of doing headers and building my own intake.
And probably a tune..
Once I get all that, I'm thinking of doing Alky injection....could I do injectors before Alky though? Would I benefit from that?
Re: Suggestions on Modding
You wouldn't benefit from bigger injectors because you don't have the mods to outflow the stockers.

I don't wanna go ape S**t on any of it because I dont have the money for it, I just want it faster than stock so I can keep up with my friends.
I was thinking of doing Downpipe Cat/U-bend delete and powerlog at first.
I actually had thought of doing the Stage 2 Kit from ZZP, but thats 800 some dollars of which I don't have right now.
Would it be worth doing the 3.5 pulley, or should I just go to 3.4..?
Any other suggestions?
:th_peaceout:
Simple answer IS DONT MOD lmao your ar will thank you for it
Re: Suggestions on Modding
So what would you suggest?
Headers, Alky Injection, Intake....pulley?

Why do you say that?
Re: Suggestions on Modding
once you start modding, things start breaking.
these cars dont like being modded at all.
its best if you have another car for a DD if you want to mod a GP.

I see what you mean...but i'm not really going ape s**t on modding...I'm not turboing it yet or anything...just little mods that i've read about other people doing and being fine.
I'm only asking for suggestions....
Re: Suggestions on Modding
Just point it out.
Wouldn't want you to get into this thinking these cars take well to modding and then something goes foul and then you find out that this is a known issue.
Better to be informed of the risks.
Re: Suggestions on Modding
Headers, Open Cone, DHP PCM, 3.4" Pulley, AL104's, 180* T-Stat...and maybe poly mounts...with a ported supercharger. Those mods should net a HIGH 13 if you can drive and really isn't hard on anything. A shift kit would help too...from Intense or TransGo.

Thanks. Ill start from here and then work up in mods and building up...I'm going to spend some time asking around to see if people had any problems with the mods I want to do
Re: Suggestions on Modding
3.4 setup wont do much harm.
As long as you dont do stupid things like burnouts or peeling around corners etc.
Re: Suggestions on Modding
^^THAT is what kills your transmission...and shifting into 4th gear at WOT. Don't go out of 3rd gear at WOT. Period. If you want to save your 4th gear that is.

To the OP:
You don't need headers to mod safely. Hell, you don't need HALF the things you will be told you need.
You NEED to begin to monitor your KR readings, you can tell how far you can go with your car if you can monitor these readings.
Blue: our exhaust system isn't restrictive at all. Actually, many of the top 10 3800's run with stock cat-backs!!!! it's the pre-cat system that blows. Mainly the front manifold and the DP/ubend.
Yes, buying a dp that is going to be taken off in less than a year is a complete waste of time and money, I don't see how you can argue that.
You seem like you know what you're talking about, at least kinda, so when someone says you need exhaust work I'm sure you're smart enough to know that they are talking about everything before the cat, come on man. No one said anything about cat back except you.
Re: Suggestions on Modding
So I'm doing headers and Open Cone. I would like to do a tune as well to (like people have told me to do, and I have wanted to) but what tune would you recommend?
