So I've been quietly squirreling away money while I decide what I want to do with my GP and I've come to the conclusion that anywhere in the 12's would suit me just fine. I have a few questions though for people who have already been there.

    1. What's the average cost of putting a GP into those kind of times?
    2. What's your mpg like?
    3. What's drivability, reliability like?
    4. Turbo or build up the S/C?

Basically the GP will cease to be my DD at this point but I'd still like to be able to drive her consistently without worrying about something blowing up or quadrupling my gas bill. Any thoughts/opinions greatly appreciated.

If it's a GTP, I'm gonna guess anything in the 3.2 pulley area with supporting mods will get you in the high 12's.

Cheapest way would be with either rockers or meth, headers and tune I think, but I'm just assuming that will be enough since I'm in 13.40´s with the basic 3.4 pulley setup.

It would also be a DD driver. I drive mine to work everyday and plan to keep doing so even with a cam and the 3.25 pulley.

So far I don't think I have had any decrease in the MPG.

Triple Edge Transmission, Stage 2 IC, 42.5lb. injectors, Headers, custom tune, open cone intake, and whatever pulley you can get away with.

12's. Or cam instead of IC...or add rockers to the last setup and dip even further into the 12's. Your car, your wallet, your call.

Hmm thanks for the input everyone. It's always been a tough call for me whether to mod my current ride or change to something that's factory faster. My main concern was the everyday livability, no fun having a toy if it's always broken you know. Everything seems pretty reasonable to me, and 12's is more than enough for my purposes, just enough to surprise some folks

On average? Depends on the driver/tune. I've seen full out builds run consistent mid 13's, seen other similar builds run 13's then 12's, then 13's with slicks. Some people run at the track with full weight, without slicks, without scanning or know what their car is doing.

    Mods:
    Built tranny - $1600-2000
    GenV S/C or ported gen 3 - $200-500
Cam and springs, new timing chain- $300-900
    OR
    Fullsize IC and 1.9 rockers + springs - $900-1600
Intake- larger tb, cone, lt1/lq4 maf - $200-350
    MPS- 3.0, 3.2, 3.4 pullies, belts $100-160
    Headers-$150-500
    Scangauge/aeroforce + wideband -$200-450
    Fuel pump rewire - $30-70

    Tune - $100-600
    slicks - $200-500
    weight reduction
    driver mod.
