Hey guys have an 02 gtp I love it but I really thought this thing would be quicker than it is. I know its heavy and an automatic but I had a civic with a swap and nitrous that ran high 12's Im not sure if this thing would bust a 14.5!
Dont get me wrong it is very comfortable and it isnt a sports car but holy moly! Maybe Im doing somethng wrong... I have the following mods 3.4 pulley, intense pcm, colder plugs, FWI, 180 t-stat, 3'DP, HF cat, 2.5 exhaust with magnaflo mufflers. I do plan on adding a KR gauge and headers but seeing that I dont drive it that much I was waiting. It kinda feels like a timimg issue?? Maybe?? Anybody have any wisdom I am ready to recieve! Thanks!

You are knocking and it is pulling timing making your car slow. Get headers and a real tune.

Intense is not a good tune? I hear people on here recomending it all the time. If not what is a "good tune"?

Street Tune with a HP Tuners tuner or DHP tuner. All the mail order tunes are just a generalized tune to meet the masses. A Street tune will be a custom tune with a person riding shotgun logging info to adjust parameters to help get your car to the best running hp making condition safely.

Well if you're up for driving to the KC Metro Area PM Reptile and he can tune you if not your looking at close to 500 bux or more. DHP tuners are no longer being made and the company is no longer in business although many still use the tuner. There is one for sale in the "For Sale" section here on the boards currently.

The HP Tuners VCM Suite can be bought at various dealers.

it would probably help, but you should probably still be running a stock pulley to be honest.

If you are closer to Indianapolis, Paul Jerkatis is probably one of the best tuners for the 3800 out there. I think he charged me around $100 to tune my GTP. I gained 2.5 mph trap and about .5 seconds. His website is PRJperformance.com. He should have his contact info on there.

Ok I took the cheap way out and bought a 3.6 pulley. After installation everthing is running great! I should have installed the bigger pulley to begin with. Im still planning on getting headers and a better tune though, thanks guys for all your help!

Keep the 3.4" for the headers and the re-tune then...OR...just crank up the timing on the 3.6" when you put the headers on...it would be pretty quick.
