the gains are fairly marginal from what ive heard. headers are cheap, start with those.

Thanks for the reply. I was thinking of a ported rear to go with my plog and downpipe. I have a extra rear to port and I'm going with this setup cuz I got the plog and crossover so damn cheap I couldnt pass it up.

Yea and it did make a differance over the stock. Just gonna wait and maybe get that ported for alil better flow.

Has anyone heard about the number 6 runner sticking down in the exhaust stream reducing flow. I've read that on a diff forum. What you guys think?

kinda a waste of time for your mods IMO

I just went from PLOG and DP to headers and the gain wasn't that noticeable. They did drop the boost 2 psi though.

I have looked into headers and the speed daddy ones looks good and they are cheap. But the slip fit is what making me think twice about them. But I'm still open to them.
On your sig it says you have a 3.5 pulley and 1.8 rockers. Notice a big diff when you put either one of those on?

Probably the pulley more than the rockers...but they go hand in hand...like headers...they should always be done first on these cars now that we know that they are cheap and work.

Yea I was just curious cuz there is always a debate over a 3.4 vs 3.5 but there is like a lb of boost diff. Any bad things about the obx headers that they have out there?

When headers are installed they drop the boost and move the low end torque to mid to high range? Then dropping pulley will give that low end back? Also do they help in the 1/4 mile as faster 60 ft and et's?

I too wonder about the slip fit. I'd hate to have leaks.

Yea I know you would need exhaust sealent and clamps. I even found dual clamps from jegs that would work great on them. I just keep hearing of people having problem with them leaking or hitting on something. Just saying...

I used band clamps and copper rtv and mine don't leak. Headers dropped my boost 2 psi over the PLOG/ DP setup. I didn't notice any lowend power loss. The 3.5 pulley adds sick amounts of lowend torque. They will help your 60ft times if you can get the power to the ground. you need to scan your car and see what kind of boost/ timing you're running with the stock pulley before you drop pulleys, my car was making like 10 psi which is a little high for a stock pulley so I decided on the 3.5 instead of the 3.4. Now I wish I would have gone with the 3.6. BTW, the 1.8 rockers don't do ****, didn't lower boost, couldn't add any timing. They are more for people running cams, I would recommend the modded 1.9's. I'm going to swap to them eventually, I hope they help.

Yea I bet they will help ya out and why do you wish that you would of went with the 3.6 over the 3.5? Since you lost psi when you did headers wouldnt you want to drop pulley size to make up for that loss?
I'm just gonna go with the 1.9 rockers cuz I was told they dont make the 1.95 rockers anymore. I just want a mid 13 sec car and with that set up I hope I get it. Maybe switch to headers later and see if that helps out. I have a 3.5 press on and a 3.4 mps. Cant make up my mind witch one to put on my car either.

I wish I went with the 3.6 because I still get kr over 5000rpms with anything over 12 degrees of timing.

I have the SSAC Headers and love em. Don't mess with the ported exhaust manifolds. It's not worth your time or efforts. You will notice nothing. I'd sell the PLOG and DP. When you get those sold and money in hand buy headers. That's what i did and i explained that they will not get them until they are removed.

Plus if you plan on dropping pulleys and putting on rockers you will get better gains with headers.

OBX are junk! Don't get them. My SSAC's do not leak one bit!

your tune must be horrid. with those mods you should definitely be able to run at least stock timing.

No kidding...or your cat is clogged and whoever tuned it is trying to get around it...or maybe a cat in the downpipe
