While I don't agree with how this whole sh*t storm was started, looking at a locator, there's a station that sells E85 that's 17 miles from my house....so it does have me thinking how much fun it would be to tinker with the stuff, I may just find me a set of injectors and give it a try just to say I did it. Why the hell not.

the meth/e85 debate is similar to strip clubs in north america[this is a horrible analogy].
methanol is the american strip club, while ethanol is canadian. [most] american boob shacks are just that, boob shacks. the dancers can't go fully nude and they are all over the place. in canada, dancers get fully nude. who in their right mind would take a long trip to canada when you can get similar, yet lacking results down the road?
what i'm trying to say is that e85 isn't as accessible as methanol, thus forcing people to stay put at the boob shacks. [unless you're in a border town]

i never realized e85 had such high potential, so i indirectly thank you tengis. you're still a dik though.

I posted this on another thread, but I'll expand on it here. I maxed out boost and timing on 94 octane right around 16psi and 16*. When Sunoco stopped selling 94, I had to drop to 15psi and 15* unless I dumped in a can of Lucas octane booster, which let me go back to 16/16. When I went to the track and mixed in some 104 (about 50/50 mix), I ran about 17psi, but I lowered timing to 14*, and only got one good run in, which still had a couple blips of KR. I'd guess I might have gone to 17/16 at the most.

Switching to E85, I am now running 18psi and 18* of timing every day. I have had boost as high as 22psi, but I ran out of injector just over 20psi, so fuel delivery is the only thing holding me back now (this is on 65# injectors - hope to get some 80#'s soon). I really doubt I could get anywhere near this much power on meth injection, and I know it would be no where as easy to tune as E85. I literally drove to the station, filled with e85, adjusted the IFR table, and was good to go. I have tweaked the IFR table once or twice since then because of ethanol blends from other stations, but other than that, I have not touched anything in the MAF or PE tables.

I have a burning question with your post. Have you been to the track since the 12.55 time?? Twin-charged and on E85 seems slow and maybe Im fackin nuts. Wouldnt you be able to be faster no SC just a good turbo and E85? I dunno something doesnt seem right for that time and your mods. Just wondering what 60ft times are also Id assume traction is a problem. Thanks want to know more about the setup

No, that site I linked was mostly for info. With your 98 you should have no problems just going with larger injectors, a decent pump/rewire and a couple of fuel filters after the switch. You need to add appr. 30% more fuel in your IFR table. You can get even pickier and find what blend % is for that month in your state off of E85mustangs.com or whathaveya.

Basically if you can get the car to knock on E85, you more than likely have serious mechanical problems.

I tried it once just for the hell of it a year ago and never looked back. I daily drive the car and at first I was a little worried about running out, but for the benefits of the fuel, it doesn't bother me at all planning ahead or topping off the tank before I leave town. I have a 5 gallon jug at home just in case, only had to use it once.

That 12.5 time is the only run I've had at the track with the twin-charge, which was over a year ago. When I first installed the twin-charge setup, I took the car to the track and snapped an axle on the first run. When the axle broke, I figured it was a good time to also upgrade the transmission to the 1" chain, so I did that, and I didn't get back to the track for a while. When I finally did get there, it was a Saturday, and it was packed for a Mopar event. I didn't want to run full out because I wasn't fully tuned, so I made a run with about 50% throttle most of the way, and that was my 12.5 time. I was running 14* of timing on 93/104 mix, boost peaked around 17psi on the shift, and the 60' was a crappy 2.0. I waited for another run for almost 3 hours, but there was a lot of breakdowns, and I couldn't wait longer.

I will be getting to a dyno soon for some numbers. I think it will show that I'm making a lot of power on this setup.

Probably going to get a dyno at Krazy House Customs. They are only 5 minutes from where I work.

Thats kind of what I was expecting but everyone on here made it sound like I dont know ****. So I figured Id ask you myself. I was simply wondering what the factors were given the time you posted. However I still think a strong running reliable car means a hell of a lot more than a track time. I'd love to see some more pics of your set up and are you going to try some DRs or at least knock down the psi a little to try get the 60ft down? Also Id assume the car is cammed and IC?? Ive got a 98 Regal GS myself I plan on stickin a P&P Gen5 on when I get back from Afghanistan and not sure what cam Ill use and Id like to avoid using an IC. Good luck with the dyno session.
